Lodola represents the symbol of Italian art transfigured and shaped according to the culture of our time which is inevitably linked to the world of media and damn pop.

Vittorio Sgarbi

Born in 1955, after classical artistic studies, Lodola found a way to bring together strong and solid colors with a futurist and pop formal simplification.
This is how his unmistakable style was born, inevitably influenced by his passion for the 1950s and classic Italian icons, such as the Vespa, the pin-ups and the vintage cars.

Music, entertainment and society are the mirror of his art, which find their maximum exasperation in his famous light sculptures. The artist shapes plastic materials to his liking, inserts neon or LED lights inside and colors the outside, rigorously using pop colors and synthesized forms. His works were immediately an incredible success.

He was hired by Max Pezzali to design the cover of the famous 883 album, the years in which Lodola created one of the works, which later became one of the most loved and sought after in contemporary art: “The Face of Others”. It is a series of anonymous faces colors taken from above that form a concentric circle, a symbol of mass conformism that began its climb in the 1980s.

Among many collaborations with the world of entertainment, we remember for example the Timoria, Ron, Gianluca Grignani and other big names that inevitably found their aesthetic transposition perfectly compatible with the light representations of Marco Lodola.

In fact, he was asked to develop the sets for renowned Italian movies, television programs and also for the seventh edition of X Factor, the famous musical talent show that was enlightened by a new artistic light thanks to his sculptures.

The numerous television and musical appearances accompany the now acclaimed multiple exhibitions, museums, galleries and artistic events, and decree a constant certainty in the contemporary art market, qualifying him as one of the most sought after and highly rated Italian artists.

From the Venice Biennale to the most important Italian museums, passing through illustrious international exhibitions including the Pompidou National Center in Paris, the Evita Peron Museum in Buenos Aires in Argentina, the Museum of Fine Arts in Mexico City and then Singapore, Hong Kong and many other cities.
